We live in an incredibly vibrant society made up of people from different origins, races, genders, belief systems, orientations, and walks of life. An organization should always be looking for opportunities to recognize and celebrate being more inclusive than it was the previous day, week, month, or year. Celebrations of diversity are wonderful ways to encourage learning and acceptance of those who may look, live, or believe differently and, at the same time, help inject excitement and positivity into our schools and communities. As your elected representative, I will push to bring back special proclamations and work to create county-wide celebrations for holidays, various heritage, history, pride, and appreciation days, weeks, or months.
